Helmut Hierner lives in Zell am See, in the Austrian state of Salzburg, and he has been absorbed in drawing and painting since childhood.
Water colour is his favourite painting technique, particularly for landscapes, as he can carry abrupt weather moods and quickly changing light, straight onto his canvas. The water colours are always painted in the free outdoors, the artist is therefore one of the few „plein air painters“ still existing today.
Only in this way can the source and special fascination of the motive be truly passed on.
The paintings receive their finishing touches in his atelier.
This artistic calendar presents the province of Pinzgau in Land Salzburg, which, characterized by its extensive variety of landscapes, impresses visitors time and time again. One can find structurally well kept villages and sunny valley landscapes here, as well as the abruptly rising Hohe Tauern mountain chain with its romantic valleys reaching out tot he side.
The water colour artist, Helmut Hierner, has captured some of these „treasures“ of his artistic forays in the calendar paintings.
His successful exhibitions and publications, as well as his sale of paintings, are a splendid acknowledgement of his artistic activity.
